How to give EpiPen®
Provide ambulance with the used EpiPen® and the time it was given.
Note: When an adrenaline (epinephrine) infjector device is being given (or self administered) the person having anaphylaxis should be laying flat, in the recovery position or sitting with their legs outstretched. They should remain in this position (not standing or walking) after the device has been given, until they have fully recovered. More information about positioning is on the ASCIA website https://www.allergy.org.au/hp/anaphylaxis/positioning which includes infographics and a video.
A short animated video on how to give EpiPen® is available on the Allergy & Anaphylaxis Australia website: https://allergyfacts.org.au/resources/downloads/videos
