Immunisation
Immunisation is a process by which a person becomes protected against a disease through vaccination, which is the act of introducing a vaccine into the body to produce protection from a specific disease. This is an important method to reduce the risk of developing infectious diseases, including influenza, which is a major cause of illness and deaths worldwide. Immunity occurs after the vaccine stimulates a person’s immune system, to protect them from future infections.
