New National Allergy Strategy free online training for food service

In response to engagement with key stakeholders in the food service industry, a free online training course that includes videos and interactive activities has been launched by the National Allergy Strategy, a partnership between Australia’s peak allergy bodies, ASCIA and Allergy & Anaphylaxis Australia (A&AA). The course provides training that is fast, easy and freely available at  The comprehensive course includes information about:

  • Responding to, and managing orders from customers who disclose a food allergy.
  • Minimising the risk of cross-contamination.
  • What to do if a customer experiences an allergic reaction, including anaphylaxis.

A National Allergy Strategy food allergy educational website for community has also been launched, to enable people with food allergy and their carers to access information about food allergy. 


ASCIA 2017 registration and abstract submission deadline extended to 28 July 2017

The deadline for the ASCIA 2017 Conference abstract submission and early bird registration has been extended until midday AEST on Friday 28 July 2017. Please note that no further deadline extensions will be possible, as we need to allow time to publish abstracts online on the ASCIA 2017 app and in the Internal Medicine Journal.

MedicAlert Foundation Survey

MedicAlert Foundation has developed a survey to help them understand how they can improve their services and products. The survey will take approximately 15 minutes and is being hosted by trusted independent research partner, Colmar Brunton. Responses will remain confidential and anonymous. Answers from all survey participants will be combined in a final report and individual answers or details will not be identified. The survey is available at:
